In this video, I’d like to take a closer look at the popular discussion of pursuing the CFA vs MBA.
Why MBA Could be Better…
In terms of gaining knowledge, a typical 2-year curriculum offered by MBA programs should be faster to complete than a 4-year self-study required by the CFA exam. An MBA is program is generally broader covering not only accounting, but also finance, marketing, business and even niches such as venture capital and social enterprises.
On the other hand Why CFA Could be Better…
Some recruiters do suggest getting a CFA instead because it is almost a must for certain jobs, such as fund manager and equity analysts. Also, it is a lot less expensive, and you can study while taking a full-time job. This will not disrupt your earning power as well as your promotion path within the firm.
